Set Design for School of Creative and Performing Arts

Bye Bye Birdie as a Comic Strip

Jan worked closely with faculty and students at the School for Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati suring the years that her daughter attended, in training for visual and theater arts. While working with David Warda and David White on production of “The Book of Five Rings” which traveled to Gifu, Japan for a 13 day tour, Jan worked in set and costume fabrication. While touring, David White invited Jan to design a concept for the school’s next musical, Bye Bye Birdie. She created sketches and finished drawings that served as sets and props for the show, with the only dimesional things on stage being the actors.
