Figure 15 at the Carnegie Art Center in Covington (1997)

The nude was really rocking back in the late nineties. I was honored to be among the exhibitors who made it their specialty.

  • Two Eve Retablo egg tempera These paintings were commissioned while Jan worked on the series Eve: Living the First Life (make a link here to that project)

  • Shelter Egg tempera Based on a drawing by Picasso of sleeping peasants that Jan discovered while working at Vermont Studio Centers, she simplified the subject into a couple that form a whole. This treatment was informed by Jan’s study of Gustav Vigeland’s sculpture.
